ITF Mexico City Doubles Champions Garry Nadebaum Wins Men’s 45’s Doubles and 45’s Mixed Doubles at ITF Campeonata Nacional Masters Mazda ITF Mexico City (Clay)
Riverhill Country Club Tennis Director Garry Nadebaum won the ITF Campeonata Nacional Masters Mazda Men’s 45’s Doubles and 45’s Mixed Doubles last week held in mexico City. This was the first time Garry had traveled to Mexico City for a tennis tournament and playing at altitude of 7000 ft with pressure less tennis balls was quite an experience. The ball flies further at altitude and the pressure less ball is hard and you don’t get much power or spin on the ball from your racket. This made it hard to play since Garry is known for his big serve and power game.
In the sinlges Garry lost a close match in the quarter finals to former ATP Pro Jorge Rendon (Mexico City) 5/7, 4/6. Garry Nadebaum then teamed up with Juan Fernandez Ares De Parga (Mexico) and were seeded #1in the doubles. In the doubles Nadebaum/ Fernandez won 3 rounds of doubles and eventually defeating Acosta/ Mendoza 7/5, 6/1 in the finals.
In the 45’s Mixed Doubles Garry Nadebaum teamed up with Julie Dybendal (Australia) and won three easy rounds droppind no more than 2 games in a match. In the finals they defeated Balbiers/Malo (Mexico City) 6/1,6/0 to take the championship.
With these tournament results Riverhill Tennis Director Garry Nadebaum ITF (International Tennis Federation) World rankings have gone up considerably. In the ITF World Mens 45’s Singles he is ranked #17 and in the Men’s 45’s Doubles he is now ranked #6.
Garry Nadebaum has just recieved an email stating that he has been selected to represent Australia on the Mens 45’s Dubler Cup Team for 2014 due to his results and ranking for this current year. Garry will travel to Florida next April to compete for Australia in the teams event and then compete in the Individual World Championships the week following.
