USTA National Mens 45’s Hard Court Doubles Title

Riverhill Country Club Tennis Director Garry Nadebaum has won the USTA National Mens 45’s Hard Court Doubles Title held at Westlake Village Tennis Club in Westlake, California. Garry teamed up with doubles partner Derek Brooks from Florida to capture the doubles title 6/2, 1/6, 6/3 over last year’s winners and #2 ranked team in the nation, Art Hernandez and Carsten Hoffmann. Nadebaum and Brooks won 3 tough rounds before taking their first Hard Court Title together. This win gives Nadebaum and Brooks their 3rd straight Men’s 45’s National Title after winning the Grass Courts and the Indoor Hard Courts last year. Nadebaum and Brooks have been ranked #1 in USTA National Men’s 45’s Doubles for the past 2 years and with this title they are still ranked #1 and #8 in the World ITF tennis rankings.

In the singles draw Garry Nadebaum was seeded #2 and won 3 tough matches before losing in the quarters finals to Roberto Rodriguez from California. Rodriguiz originally was from Cuba where he played the Davis Cup for them. Garry Nadebaum has been ranked #1 in the USTA national 45’s Singles rankings the past 2 years and is still is currently.

Riverhill Country Club Tennis Director Garry Nadebaum recently was runner up in the singles and won the doubles titles at the ITF Wilson / Mayfair Canadian Circuit 2 held in Toronto, Canada. This was Garry second year to play in Toronto at the Mayfair indoor tennis facilities. Garry won both the singles and the doubles last year but only defended the doubles title and was runner up in singles event. Garry won 3 rounds of singles and then lost a close match to Canadian #1 player Karl Hale in the singles final 6/3, 6/2. In the doubles final Garry teamed up friend Ken White form Buffalo, New York to win the doubles final defeating Martin Lemay/ Mike O’neill (Canada) 6/2, 6/2.

Garry’s next tournament will be March 15th at The Ali Bey Resort Manavgat, Antalya Turkey where he will play for Australia in the Dubler Cup (Mens 45’s Davis Cup event) World Team Championships and then will also play the ITF World Individual Singles and Doubles Championships following the team event.
